Turned on 2FA after my Steam account got hijacked last month
I used to think two-factor authentication was just an extra hassle. I mean, who has time to grab their phone every time you log in to something? Then last month someone got into my Steam account and tried to buy $80 worth of skins using my linked PayPal. The only reason I caught it was because my bank texted me about the charge. Spent the next 3 hours on the phone with Steam support and my bank getting everything reversed. Now I have 2FA turned on for everything that offers it, my email, my bank, even my gaming accounts. The peace of mind is totally worth the extra 10 seconds. Has anyone else had a close call that finally made them lock things down?
