I used to think side gigs were a sellout until I saw my neighbor's pottery setup

Saying you "kept your classroom" is selling it a BIT short. That pottery money is nice but try doing that on top of grading papers and lesson planning for thirty kids every night. I know a teacher who started selling bread from her kitchen on weekends and she burned out in three months because she was up until midnight baking. The plant stand business sounds good but you gotta be REAL about how much time your day job actually takes. That classroom work doesn't stop at 3pm.

My grandma called me out on wasting food last week

Heard a chef on a podcast once talking about doing this exact thing, said it's basically free flavor you're throwing away. She called it "scrap stock" and swore it makes even basic soups taste way better than anything from a box. Makes you wonder why we're so quick to toss stuff that could be useful later, right? Definitely gonna try that freezer bag trick myself, just gotta remember to actually do it before the veggie scraps hit the trash.

I think the hostel trend in Lisbon is overrated for solo travelers

Is 40 euros really a steal though? I've seen places in Alfama that look amazing in photos but end up being a shoebox with a window facing a brick wall. The hidden fees thing is legit though, some of those private rooms hit you with a 15 euro cleaning fee that they don't mention until checkout, plus the tourist tax adds up if you're staying more than a couple nights. Not saying it's a bad deal, just that the gap between "listed price" and "what you actually pay" can be pretty wide sometimes.

That guy at Gen Con who called out my storage system

And yet nobody asked if maybe she just doesn't drink Crown Royal, @wendy131.

Had a great week fixing old game consoles in Seattle

Yeah there's something satisfying about when simple fixes line up like that.
