Serious question, I used to cut all my drywall sheets on the floor.

My buddy did that and threw his back out, right?

Appreciation post: That time a kid squirmed and I nicked his ear in my chair

Honestly, reading about the mom glaring makes me wonder. A tiny nick from a squirm is pretty normal, and it stops bleeding fast with that pencil. It seems like we're all treating a small scratch like a major event. Maybe the problem isn't keeping the kid perfectly still, it's everyone's reaction to a minor thing. The goal is a haircut, not a statue session. A little patience for normal kid fidgeting might lower the stress for everyone.

Warning: Tried a magnesium float on a patio pour versus my old steel one.

Honestly, the float type matters, but the prep does too. On a brutal day like that, I'll sometimes mist the concrete with water right before I go over it with the magnesium. It buys you a few extra seconds of workability. Just a light spray, not enough to mess with the mix. Lets the float glide without tearing up the surface.

I spent $400 on a 'smart' compost bin that just made a mess

That's the kind of neighborhood drama I can get behind. Hope the birds figured it out eventually.

Can we talk about the actual pH of tap water in different cities and how it affects peels?

Remember reading about a town where the water pH changed so much it messed up people's home brewing? Makes you wonder if that's why my skin care feels different some weeks, like the cleanser just sits on top or stings for no reason. I guess if they're adding more chemicals at the plant to clean it, our tap water isn't really a stable thing to begin with. Do you use a filter or just test it every time?
