A client in Austin told me my ad copy sounded like a robot wrote it

My buddy had a client tell him his website bio sounded like a corporate press release. The line was something like "implementing synergistic solutions" and the client just laughed and said it was total nonsense. He was pretty embarrassed at first, but he rewrote the whole thing to just say what he actually does for people. Said it was the best feedback he ever got, even though it stung in the moment.

Seeing a washer shake apart a floor from skipping the level step

Man, that's wild. I read a whole forum thread once where a guy's washing machine "walked" right through a drywall wall because it was never leveled (like, full on left a machine-shaped hole). It really does seem like the smallest skip causes the biggest mess. Pats66 is totally right about it being like burning money, you'd think the shaking alone would set off alarm bells. It's one of those things that seems obvious after it breaks, but I guess some people just hit start and walk away.

I was going to be a professional mime in Paris, but a pigeon stole my invisible rope in 2018.

Always carry a backup invisible rope, and @mark436, you need to be more aggressive than the bird.

Can we talk about that sudden wind gust on the high rise job in Denver last month?

Dropping the main line on a 5-ton load is a huge call. What was the wind speed when you made that choice? That's a situation where seconds really matter.

Remember when we used to cut everything by hand?

My buddy still has his old knee kicker in the garage. He says it's a reminder of how much his back used to hurt after a day's work.
