Warning: Customer swore his stereo was haunted by electronic ghosts
Had a guy bring in a stereo that kept turning off by itself. Turns out it was just a bad power switch, but he was convinced it was haunted. I mean, idk, maybe it's just me but that's a new one.

Read somewhere that our brains are wired to see patterns, even when they aren't there. That tracks with what @kaiw45 said about jumping to weird ideas.

Spot the same thing all the time. Our brains are just desperate to make sense of the world, even if it means seeing ghosts in coffee makers. It's a survival thing that gets a little too creative sometimes.

Man, I totally get where he was coming from. When things act up on their own like that, it really does feel like there's something else going on. Our brains just jump to the weirdest ideas when we can't figure out the real cause. Honestly, a haunted stereo is a way more fun story than a boring old broken switch. Poor guy was probably just freaked out and looking for any answer.

Totally agree, my old coffee maker used to turn itself on and I was fully convinced a ghost just really needed a caffeine fix (turns out it was just a bad timer).
