Rant: The old diner on Route 9 had a wall of photos that stopped me cold

Wait, they just taped it up in 1947 and it's still there? That's wild.

My dream about the Denver airport escalator had a rule everyone ignores

Yeah, the "wading through mud" feeling is exactly it. I always thought you just needed to try harder until I found my own weird rule.

Always thought those little post leveling jigs were a waste of money

Got a scrap 2x4 and some screws? Cut two short blocks and screw them into the post to make a cross. Stake that into the ground. Works the same as the plastic thing for basically free. Used that trick for years before I caved and bought a bracket.

Our book club spent 3 meetings arguing over the ending of 'The Road'

Was it the dog or the cookies that really broke that group? I swear the best book clubs are just one bad take away from turning into a support group for people who argue too much. My old group had a screaming match in a Panera over whether Gatsby was a good guy or just a rich creep, and we never actually finished talking about the book. It's like we all just want to fight about made up people.

Hot take: I think the 'just replace it' crowd is wrong sometimes

How many mechanics does it take to change a lightbulb? None, they just replace the whole wiring harness first lol. That story is perfect, it's like watching someone buy a new car because the gas cap was loose.
