inRant: the crud under a fridge after 6 years in a rental near Toledo
Who actually remembers to pull the fridge out and vacuum the coils? I pat myself on the back for changing the furnace filter and then forget the fridge exists for like three years straight. Then I finally yank it out and find a dust bunny big enough to have a name and a social life. That felt blanket you described is exactly what mine looked like, except mine also had a lost fork back there somehow. Good on you for catching the breaker thing before it turned into a service call.

inRant: everyone calls Speed Racer (2008) a mess but that's the whole point
There's a video essay I saw a while back where the guy breaks down how the transitions are literally meant to feel like flipping channels as a kid. Everything is bright and loud on purpose, like a sugar rush. You're not crazy, the whole thing is meant to put you inside a kid's brain watching a race.

inFound out my cheap blade grinder spins at 20,000 RPM and that's why my pour overs tasted muddy
20,000 RPM from a $20 blade grinder is INSANE to me. I always just figured mine chopped the beans "good enough" and the real problem was my pour technique. But the part that got me was you saying OVER HALF your grind was fines, that's basically dust at that point and of course it's gonna clog the filter and taste bitter. Sifting with a cheap grocery sieve is such a simple test too, I can't believe I never thought to just LOOK at what the grinder was actually doing. A neighbor's hand grinder turning the same beans into blueberries says everything about how much the grind matters. I almost threw my pour over setup in the trash over this and probably would have blamed myself forever.
