I used a throw line for a big oak removal in Cincinnati last month instead of climbing to set my first line, and it saved me over an hour.

Right? Total life saver.

Warning: I thought those new flexible rods were just a gimmick

Ever try the ones with the side mirror attachment? Lets you look around corners without bending the cable. That flue job sounds like a perfect case for it. You can spot problems before they get worse, saves a ton of time on the fix. I keep one in my main kit now, never know when you'll need to see behind something.

Vent: Got stuck on a story at the library and a librarian gave me a weird trick

Totally! It's like when you take a different route home and suddenly notice a store or a house you never saw before. Your brain just goes on autopilot with the same old patterns. Breaking one small thing, like a boring sentence, can shake everything else loose for a minute. I see this everywhere now, from how people arrange their desks to the order they do their morning routine. Sticking to the pattern makes you miss stuff.
