inI was sure automated replies were a bad idea until last month
Honestly, that reply might have been their first human contact all day.

inA regular client said my blowouts were making her hair feel like straw
Honestly I used to crank my flat iron all the way up too, thinking more heat meant smoother results faster. But a friend told me her ends were snapping off and it was a huge wake up call. Now I always do a test section on lower heat first, and honestly the style holds just as well without the damage. That kind of feedback is brutal to hear but it makes you a better stylist lol.

inJust realized my 'fine' answer at work is a real problem
Ugh, I'm a slow learner. I kept thinking "this time it'll work" like an idiot. Finally hit my limit of pretending everything's okay.

inHot take: I used to swear by a 12-inch knife for cutting carpet, but switching to a 6-inch changed my whole game.
Yeah, it's all about control. That shorter blade lets you pivot on curves and get into tight corners without the whole thing binding up. I found I waste less material now because I'm not fighting the tool.

inMy sister said my strongest memory sounded made up, which made me rethink the whole thing.
Remember how @laura_schmidt82 mentioned home videos. It gets weirder because sometimes we mix up the story with a photo from that day. My mom told a story about me at the zoo so many times, and we had this one picture, that I was sure I remembered the lion. But I just remembered the picture, not the real thing. It makes you wonder how many of our early memories are just mental copies of stuff we've seen. Our brains are just putting together a slide show from other people's evidence.
