inHit 500 days of daily journaling and now I'm not sure if I should keep going or stop
Look at it this way, you already proved you can do it for 500 days. That's a done deal. The whole thing was just a tool to feel less stressed, not a life sentence. If the tool is now causing stress, maybe the job is done and you can put it away. You can always pick it back up if you actually miss it, not just the number.

inI always thought I'd help my kid with homework, but last night I told him to figure it out himself.
Honestly, letting them fail hard is a terrible way to learn though.

inSaw some 'custom' cabinets at a high end kitchen showroom in Scottsdale that were just garbage
Yikes, that sounds exactly like my old kitchen. I had a drawer full of pots that gave out, and it rained cookware. Felt like a cartoon character. That thin stuff is just cardboard pretending to be wood. You need a good thick base, especially for heavy dishes. My fix was just screwing in a piece of proper plywood from the hardware store. It’s held for years now, no more surprise avalanches.

inMy 'quick' garage cleanout turned into a two day project
Yearbooks are a classic trap. The real danger for me is finding old project parts. I'll spot a piece of wood or a broken gadget and suddenly I'm trying to fix it instead of cleaning. My brain flips into repair mode and the original plan is gone. It turns a simple tidy-up into a whole engineering session. The garage ends up messier than when I started.
