Vent: That time a client brought in a magazine photo and insisted I copy it exactly
So I had this guy come in last Tuesday, right? He plops down in my chair and pulls out this crumpled page from GQ magazine. It was some model with this super specific fade and a hard part that looked like it was drawn with a ruler. I told him straight up that his hair texture was totally different (way thicker and wavy) and that exact look wouldn't sit the same. He kept saying "just do it, man" over and over. I gave it my best shot, explained step by step what I was doing, but after I finished he just stared in the mirror for like 30 seconds, paid without a word, and walked out. Next day he left a 2-star review saying I ruined his haircut. Now I always take a minute to feel the client's hair before I even agree to try a photo copy. Has anyone else had a customer refuse to listen about hair texture and then blame you for it?
