I thought the 'nomad visa' for Portugal was just hype, but the process was actually smooth.

Paperwork hell" sounds about right for anything government related. Your friend in Argentina probably had to prove they exist in triplicate.

Rant: I cut dadoes freehand for a built-in bookcase and it actually worked

My 1918 bungalow has a closet where the back wall leans out a full inch over six feet. I tried to fit a plywood shelf with a square jig and it looked awful. Now I just use a long level as a straight edge, scribe the angle with a utility knife, and trim it with a jigsaw. The shelf looks like it grew there. You have to work WITH the house, not against it.

PSA: My brand new 3-pound cross peen hammer flew off its handle on the first swing in my garage shop yesterday.

Man, that could have been so much worse. A head flying off like that is no joke, especially with that much weight behind it. I had a cheap wrench snap once and it whipped back and caught me right on the knuckle. Stuff like that really makes you check your tools twice. Definitely a good call to reach out to the company, because that's just not right for a new tool.

Question about using honey instead of sugar in a basic white loaf

Disagree with cutting the liquid, honestly. A wet dough is just a technique problem, not a recipe one. Maybe @davis.noah just needed to work the dough longer instead of changing the amounts.
