Just hit 1,000 posts on the MyAnimeList forums...

I was cleaning up my profile and saw the post count. It's all from a single, five-year-long debate about whether the ending of Neon Genesis Evangelion was actually good or just confusing... I think I've typed the word 'instrumentality' more times than my own name. Has anyone else ever gotten that deep into one specific argument without even noticing?

My old GameFAQs account had over 800 posts just about the ending of Final Fantasy X. I spent years going back and forth on whether Tidus was real or just a dream. It gets to the point where you're just talking in circles with the same five people.

That part about talking in circles with the same five people hits hard. I see this everywhere now, not just old forums. It's like we all find our little corner of the internet, get stuck in a loop with the same ideas, and just repeat them to each other. You stop learning anything new and just get more sure you were right all along. It happens with games, politics, music, everything. The whole point of talking to people gets lost.

Sounds like you needed a break from that echo chamber.
