Ethical wool sourcing has me questioning my entire hobby

That yarn example from @lindag33 really hits home. It feels impossible to make every choice perfect, but seeing the truth changes everything.

Memory tests that needed hours to finish

Totally get that. The whole slow build felt like part of the process itself. Made you plan your day around it instead of just getting a result.

That time I misheard a bear warning on the PCT

Getting close to confirm what people are saying... that makes sense. But what do you do when you can't get close fast enough, like on a steep or narrow part of the trail? I've fumbled with hand signals when my hands were full with trekking poles... it gets messy. Do you practice those signals with your group before heading out, or just wing it?

Friday night rush made me okay with pre-chopped mirepoix

I saw what @the_harper said and it reminds me of watching line cooks trash talk prepped stuff, then quietly grab it from the lowboy when the tickets stack up. The knife skills pride just goes out the window.

Bali's crowded temples made me hate what tourism has become

Seriously saw a family last summer where the mom made her kids balance on a stone incense burner for a picture. The worst was someone using flash photography right in the middle of people praying quietly. It just feels like some folks see the whole place as a theme park set, not someone's actual place of worship. Makes you want to tell them the gift shop is back near the entrance.
