Showerthought: The gun show crowd seemed totally different this past weekend
I swung by the big regional gun show on Saturday, mostly to kill time and maybe spot a good deal on some tools. What really got me was how the whole feel has changed - way fewer grizzled old timers swapping stories and a whole lot of people who looked like they just walked out of a sporting goods store. I overheard one couple debating which optic to get for their first AR, but they didn't even know what MOA meant. It's like there's this whole new group getting into firearms without the basic know-how we used to take for granted. For us doing the work, it means spending half your time just educating folks before you can even talk about the job. On one hand, it's good for business, but it also feels like the craft side is getting lost. Anyone else running into this, or is it just my area?
