Hit my 100th loaf of sourdough yesterday and it actually worked

Charles, have you tried switching your flour source between brands to see if the protein levels were different.

Overheard a guy at Tim Hortons say he'd rather pay 2% mortgage rate than invest...

Yeah but did they actually run the numbers on what inflation did to their savings?

That moment a shutter curtain spring snapped on a 1960s Ricoh

3 springs have shot out of my Minolta SRTs over the years, and @riley_wood84 is close but I think you meant on top of the bench leg not under it lol. I had one land on a screwdriver handle once and it bounced all the way across the room.

That feeling when you laugh at a joke but your mind is somewhere else entirely

Oh man, this hits way too close to home. Tbh I was at a work picnic last month and someone made a joke about their kid's soccer game and I laughed so hard I almost cried. Meanwhile I was mentally making a list of groceries I needed to buy on the way home. It's like your body just goes on autopilot while your brain runs a separate operating system. My wife called me out on it later and I felt so guilty but honestly I didn't even remember what was so funny.

Told my apprentice to stop sanding with the grain on end-grain pieces

end grain just adds character" - reminds me of this one time I was building a cutting board for my buddy and forgot to sand it at all past 60 grit. He said it looked "rustic" and uses it every day. I think we overthink this stuff sometimes.
