Saw something weird at the library book sale last Saturday

I went to the annual library book sale in our town and noticed a stack of the same book, like 30 copies of it, all in great shape. It was some self-help thing from 2019 about morning routines. Who donates that many of one book? Has anyone else seen weird piles like that at these sales?

30 copies of the same book from 2019 is super specific. Did you check if they were all from the same publisher or maybe stamped with a company name inside? I feel like that could be a failed corporate giveaway or maybe someone clearing out a storage unit. Either way, it's weird that nobody grabbed them before they hit the sale floor.

Honestly, this stuff bums me out, feels like a real waste. All that effort someone put into writing that book just to end up in a pile nobody wants. Hope whoever donated them at least feels good about the tax write-off, even if the library is stuck with the mess.

@piper_kim made a good point about corporate giveaways because I once found a box of 50 identical motivational books at a church rummage sale with a company logo stamped inside the cover. That book about morning routines sounds like something a wellness company might have bought in bulk for employees and then dumped when nobody wanted them. Someone probably got a tax write-off for the donation and the library got stuck with a pile of unsold copies.
