Hit 500 consecutive days of sketching in my pocket notebook

500 days is a solid streak. Once you get past that first month it really becomes part of your routine. The biggest thing that helped me keep it going was telling myself I only had to fill one page no matter how bad the sketch was. Some days my pocket notebook just gets a ugly little coffee cup or a quick stick figure of someone on the train. That tiny commitment kept me from skipping when life got busy.

Just realized how many homes still use coax from the 90s

Those green connectors are always a joy to find.

Showerthought: Do you binge shows in order or skip around? That changed for me at a friend's place last week.

Five hours into a Breaking Bad rewatch last month I told myself I'd never skip around, but honestly starting with season 4 of The Expanse sounds kind of smart. Now I'm wondering if I've been missing out on the fun by being too rigid.

Is it just me or does anyone else think 2 weeks for a car repair is ridiculous?

Twelve days for an alternator swap, seriously?!

Had a brick wall buckle on me last Wednesday during a retaining wall job near Huntsville

Oh man, that drainage gravel mistake is a classic "I know better but somehow forgot anyway" moment. I once spent three hours building a nice little garden wall and had to knock the whole thing down because I got cocky and skipped the gravel too. Water pressure does not care about your schedule or your pride, it will push your bricks right over like they're toys. The worst part is standing there looking at your mess knowing you did it to yourself. At least you caught it before the mortar fully set, my wall held together just long enough for me to feel real attached before it gave out. Learning the hard way is annoying but you definitely wont forget the gravel next time.
