Serious question, does anyone else salt their pasta water with a splash of the starchy water first?

My buddy tried the same trick and swears it works now.

I finally got why Birdemic's terrible sound mixing actually works after rewatching it at 1am

Watched it with headphones on a rainy night and yeah the hiss gets under your skin. Turned it up loud and the parking lot scene stopped being funny and started feeling wrong in a good way. The bad audio is basically a free creepy soundtrack.

I keep seeing new creators buy a $400 mic before they fix their room echo

Nothing says pro audio like a $400 mic picking up the sound of your own regret bouncing off drywall.

Switched from cloud takeoff software to a $30 scale ruler on one job and the cloud one missed 11 studs

11 studs off is a setup problem, not the tool.

Wrote off my 9th grade English teacher's prompt advice, then it carried my whole story last month

Mine was a journalism teacher who kept telling us to just write down the small details instead of trying to sound smart, and I ignored her for years too. When I finally tried it, describing the sound of my mom's keys in the door made a whole scene click in a way my big dramatic setups never did. It's funny how the simplest stuff is usually what sticks with people.
