Finally figured out the right way to load the ice machine at the gas station

I've been fighting with a beat up ice machine at the Circle K off the 10 for about two years now. What finally worked for me was realizing it's all about how you hold the bag when you slide it in. If you tilt it so the ice falls to one side and then set it down slow, the machine doesn't get that sudden dump of weight that makes it seize up. @jenny47 is right on the money about shaking the bag first too, it keeps the cubes from sticking together in clumps. I used to just yank the bag open and jam it in there like a caveman. Now it's smooth every time.

Pro tip: always check the safeties before leveling a car in an old hydraulic

Damn, @violaramirez that waxy sludge sounds like a nightmare.

Heard a stylist at a salon in Denver say thin hair needs more product not less... changed my whole approach

Solidarity for sure. I used to be so scared to touch fine hair with mousse. Total game changer when you just go for it and pile on the grip products.

I finally realized I was throwing away recyclables just because they were dirty

Ngl @taylor.reese I actually think you're overthinking this one. I used to skip rinsing stuff too until I saw a video from a recycling plant showing how a single greasy pizza box can contaminate an entire bale of cardboard. Like yeah, maybe your local facility isn't perfect, but if you're just tossing dirty jars without rinsing them, you're basically making it harder for the stuff that does get sorted properly. Honestly, a quick rinse takes less time than scrolling past this thread.

That time at the county fair in Iowa wrecked my grocery budget assumptions

Bet that fair chicken was pumped full of salt and water to make it seem bigger than it really was.
