To the guy I cut off in the Kroger parking lot in 2018

You were loading groceries with your kid in the cart, and I was in a rush to get home. I zipped into the spot next to you, way too close. You just looked at me, shook your head, and said 'Man, you got the whole lot.' I mumbled sorry but it wasn't enough. I think about that a lot now when I'm the one with the cart full of kids. It was just pure thoughtlessness on my part. Anyone else have a tiny moment like that that just sticks with you for years?

I spent months trying to get an AI to write like me, but it kept sounding wrong.

I was feeding it my old forum posts from 2018, but the tone was always flat. The thing that tipped me off was my wife reading one and asking, 'Did you have a stroke?' Everyone says a happy childhood needs big vacations. Mine is just a Tuesday in 1994.

My dad got laid off from the plant. He spent a whole week just building a cardboard castle with me in the living room. We used every box from the grocery store. That quiet time, not some trip to Disney, is what I hold onto now. It makes me question if we push expensive memories over simple presence. Anyone have a core memory that cost nothing?
