Just found a hidden problem with some old drawer slides I bought

Last week I was putting together a built-in for a client in Tacoma, using these slides I picked up cheap about 3 years ago. I got the cabinet box done and went to test the fit, but the drawer wouldn't go in all the way. Turns out, the mounting holes on the slides were drilled about an eighth of an inch off from the specs, so the whole thing was binding. Had to re-drill every single cabinet side, which added like two hours to the job. Has anyone else run into slides that just weren't made right?

Now I do a full five minute talk with any new crew member about EXACTLY what 'steady pull' means before we even set a rope. Has anyone else had a simple command get totally misunderstood on a job site?

Saw a wild floor transition at a cafe in Asheville yesterday

I was grabbing coffee at this place called High Five Coffee on Rankin Avenue. They had this old wood floor meeting a new tile section, but instead of a metal strip, they used a thin line of colored epoxy to fill the gap. It was maybe an eighth of an inch wide and matched the tile grout color perfectly. The whole thing looked super clean and you could barely feel the step down. Has anyone else used epoxy for transitions instead of standard molding?

Vent: Had to pick between a new door or fixing the old one for my back porch

The frame was rotten and the door wouldn't close right. I could buy a new pre-hung unit for about $350 or try to rebuild the frame and rehang the old door. I went with the rebuild, thinking I'd save cash. It took me two full weekends and I had to buy a router bit I didn't own. In the end, it still sticks a little when it rains. Should I have just bought the new door? Anyone fix an old door and have it work perfectly?
