My boss is pushing for faster repairs and it's leading to comeback jobs

Where's the pressure actually coming from? Is it your direct manager pushing this, or is it a policy from higher up that they're just passing down?

I finally drove out to that legendary pit stop from the old shows.

Nah @hill.margaret, the whole experience makes it legendary.

Just realized how stopping my daily writing practice ended my novel dream.

You know, when you ask what made me stop the daily practice... it wasn't really the word count or losing the thread. I mean, those things can be part of it, but for me, it was more about the pressure itself. Having to write every single day made it feel like a chore instead of something fun. I started dreading sitting down to write because it was this rigid rule I set. So I stopped to get back to why I wanted to write in the first place, just for the joy of it. Maybe that sounds silly, but forcing it daily took the spark out.

Update: The Cessna 172 overhaul manual has a wrong number on page 45

Hold on, that number matches my manual just fine. The factory put out a change a while back to correct it. Might want to check for the latest revision insert. Sometimes those get missed when the book is filed. My copy has a sticky note on that page from the update. Always good to double check the revision date before starting a job.

It hit me after our last book club: why do we only debate endings?

So you're saying the stains are like proof that chapter five actually got to him? Those middle chapters where the dread builds are where a book becomes a real object you interact with, not just words. The spine cracks and the pages get messed up right where the story digs its claws in. It's kind of cool that you can see where a reader got stuck in, just from a coffee ring or a bent page.
