A regular said something that made me rethink my whole chairside manner

I was cutting a guy's hair at my station in Cincinnati, just making small talk about his weekend. He looked me right in the eye and said, 'You know, I don't come here just for the haircut. I come because for twenty minutes, you let me forget my problems.' It happened about three months ago and I still think about it. What's a moment a client said something that stuck with you?

Sounds a bit dramatic for a haircut.

Wait, you're in Cincinnati? I'm in Dayton. Small world. That client really nailed it though.

Remember installing vinyl plank in this lady's sunroom, she was just watching me work for a while. Out of nowhere she goes, "Watching you lay that floor is the most peaceful thing I've seen all week." Made me feel like some kind of flooring monk, not a guy with knee pads and a utility knife. I almost messed up a cut because it caught me so off guard. Funny how people notice the weirdest things.
