My power went out right at the big reveal in the show I was binging

Honestly, I was watching the last episode of that new mystery show, 'Echo Lake', and a storm in my area cut the power just as the killer was about to be shown. I had to wait two hours for it to come back on, and it totally killed the suspense. Has anyone else had a binge totally ruined by something like that?

Ugh, I read an article about how power outages spike during big TV finales.

Did you manage to avoid spoilers after that?

That's the worst kind of timing. It reminds me of when my internet cut out right as the final battle in that fantasy series started. The worst part was the spoilers. By the time I got back online, social media was full of screenshots from the scene I missed. The surprise was completely gone, and watching it later just felt flat. It's like the moment was stolen.

Yeah, the "moment was stolen" is the perfect way to put it. You're just trying to enjoy the thing and the universe decides to mess with you. Makes me think of what brooke_wells20 said about power outages during finales. It's like there's a secret rule that your connection has to die at the worst possible time. Then you're stuck playing spoiler dodging games for days. Never feels the same when you finally see it.
