inA conversation on a Greek ferry changed how I see learning to code
Totally get what laurasmith means about seeing those small problems everywhere now. I notice it at work all the time, like how we track what needs prepping. A super simple app could fix that in an afternoon, but we just use a battered notebook. It's wild how many little friction points are just waiting for a bit of code.

inMemory tests that needed hours to finish
Yeah, the "plan your day around it" part just felt like a hassle to me. It wasn't some meaningful process, it was just annoying. I was always glad when things got faster.

inBali's crowded temples made me hate what tourism has become
It's hilarious how people wait in line to disrespect a thousand-year-old temple for a selfie. I saw someone trying to balance on a prayer altar to get the perfect angle. Another group was shouting over a ceremony to coordinate their group photo. The best part is they probably posted it with a caption about spiritual awakening. We've turned holy sites into backdrops for our fake deep moments. Maybe next they'll start selling ticket stubs as souvenirs from their cultural vandalism.
