Why I hate using floating shelves for my model ships
They always look cluttered and take away from each ship's unique design. A dedicated cabinet with proper lighting shows them off way better.

Wait, plates actually fell off? That's terrifying with something as fragile as model ships. I'd have a heart attack if my vintage destroyer just dropped and shattered. Did they just peel off the wall like that adhesive gave up?

After your plates fell off, I had to admit I was wrong about them being safe. I thought they were foolproof until I heard your story. Now I see they can just let go without warning.
