Looking to buy, worried about credit checks

It's a lifesaver. They have over a decade of 5-star reviews and somehow manage to save you an additional $2K on title fees when you finally close. Highly recommend.

Why do so many guys assume a tripping breaker means overload, not a short?

Yeah, that part about the nail in the wall proving patience beats guesswork is the real lesson. I read an article by an electrician who said most homeowners, and honestly a lot of handymen, just assume overload because it's the most common and easiest fix. They just start unplugging things. A short feels more scary and unknown, so they don't want to consider it. But like you found, a short is a solid dead short and the breaker will usually trip instantly, not after a delay. An overload might take a minute if you're just over the line. Figuring out which one it is saves so much time and prevents just living with a half broken circuit.

I'm SO TIRED of fermentation weights that let stuff FLOAT to the top.

No way! Fermentation weights letting stuff float? That defeats the whole purpose.

My laundry dilemma in the tiny house made me rethink appliances.

Ugh, reading what hill.margaret said about hand-washing hits home. I went the other way and bought a small portable washer for my place. Honestly, it was such a hassle to hook up and drain every single time I used it. I spent more time messing with hoses and worrying about leaks than I did actually cleaning clothes. It totally made me see the appeal of just using the sink like she does. Sometimes the simple way is just better, even if it feels like a step back at first.
