I tried to learn the violin at 30 and my cat hated it
Bought a cheap one online and practiced for about 3 months, but the screeching was so bad my cat would hide under the bed. I finally gave up, and honestly, I'm just glad my apartment is peaceful again. Anyone else have a hobby dream that just annoyed everyone around you?

Oh, the cat veto is the final boss of adult hobbies. I took up the harmonica last year, and my neighbor started texting me weather reports every time I practiced, like "storm's coming" or "sounds windy over there." I swear, my dog would sigh and go lie down in the closet. Sometimes the universe just tells you to stick to listening.

Tbh the pet veto is real. My roommate's guitar phase nearly ended our friendship.

My brief ukulele era still haunts me. My partner started "accidentally" turning on the vacuum cleaner every time I picked it up. Even the dog would give me this sad look and walk out of the room. You just have to accept when your artistic calling is actually a public nuisance, right?
