I paid $150 for a year of a budgeting app and it actually helped me save $2,000, but my friend says it's a waste of money.

Your friend's math is a little off.

My cousin said the same thing when I spent $80 on YNAB. That app showed me I was spending $300 a month on random takeout. Just seeing the numbers in front of me made me change. Saved enough for a flight home last year. Your friend isn't seeing the return on investment you got.

Used to think budgeting apps were a waste of money too. Then I tracked my coffee shop habit for a month and saw I was dropping over a hundred bucks. Actually seeing that number made me cut back without feeling broke. Now I put that cash toward my car payment instead. Sometimes you need the cold hard facts to make a real change.
