inWarning: that $800 power trowel upgrade might not be the fix you think
Yeah, the "basically solid" part is key. I had a similar thing with an old tiller. Spent a whole weekend taking the carb apart, cleaning every jet, and tweaking the governor spring. Ran like new for years after that. Throwing parts at a simple fix is such a waste. Some people just don't want to get their hands dirty, I guess.

inMy book club almost split over how we pick our next read
Sounds like @bennett.evan found the perfect way to stop decision fatigue.

inI was sectioning hair for a balayage in my Denver salon and a client pointed out my part lines were crooked.
Denver salons are too serious about perfect lines lol.

inA client in Austin told me my ad copy sounded like a robot wrote it
My last agency job in Chicago had a style guide that basically required robot speak. We had to use phrases like "optimize operational efficiency" instead of "make things work better." I actually think @corablack gets it, that kind of writing is a hard habit to break. Sometimes you need that formal voice for certain clients or industries. The Austin client isn't wrong, but blunt feedback can make you throw out the good with the bad. A simple edit is usually better than a full rewrite into casual talk.

inAm I the only one who tried a 12-inch knife on a ceiling and got a weird result?
My drywall guy always says a shorter blade fights gravity better overhead.
