That grocery store parking lot after dark changed my whole routine
I was leaving the Publix off Highway 9 around 8:30pm last Tuesday and watched two guys pop a car's trunk in like 10 seconds flat. Now I keep everything locked the second I sit down and never leave my purse in the cart. Has anyone else had a close call that made you totally rethink your habits?

@jessica130 same here. Saw a guy unzip a backpack at the Chick-fil-A drive thru.

Has anyone tried keeping your keys in your hand with one sticking out between your fingers? I started doing that after my sister got followed to her car, and it makes me feel way less helpless walking through a dark lot. @ivanscott you're right that drive thru spots can be sketchy too, so I always keep my bag zipped and on my shoulder now instead of the passenger seat.

That "locked the second I sat down" thing is real. I saw a guy slide his hands into a woman's open purse while she was looking at yogurt and now I clutch mine like a football.
