Vent: I used to think dream doors were just doors

After my dream last night where the only way to open my apartment door was to whisper the name of my first-grade teacher, I get it now. Anyone else have a weird dream rule that just clicks?

Went to the big library downtown and saw a display of old repair jobs

They had a glass case with maybe 15 books from the 1800s. All had been fixed up. Some spines were rebacked with new leather. A few had new endpapers. The old repairs were neat, but you could tell they were done a long time ago. The thread was thick and the glue was dark. Made me think about how we do things now. We have better tools and cleaner materials. But the goal is still the same. Keep the story in the pages safe. Anyone else seen old work that made you stop and look?

Had a weird power issue on a customer's gaming PC in Tempe yesterday

The system would boot for about 10 seconds then die, and I was sure it was the PSU until I noticed the 24-pin connector wasn't fully clicked in on the motherboard. Pushed it in properly and it fired right up, saved me from ordering a new part. How often do you guys find the simplest fix after jumping to a more complex diagnosis?

I used to think keeping a journal was pointless, but finding my grandpa's old notebook from 1978 changed my mind completely.
