Update: Why my easy faucet swap turned into a plumbing headache
After using an online guide to change my kitchen faucet, I hit a snag with old, corroded parts not mentioned. Now I have a leak and extra costs. Some say videos save money, but others say they skip important steps. Where do you stand?

Those skipped important steps had me stripping a bolt the guide never warned about.

Ugh, stripped bolts are the worst. So many guides skip the basic stuff, like cleaning the threads first or using the right socket. A little penetrating oil can save so much headache. What were you trying to fix?

Back when my sink was stuck, a mix of baking soda and vinegar did the trick after hours of waiting. Those shortcut clips never mention the patience needed for real DIY, do they? I keep a can of penetrating oil in my toolbox now for any old fittings. Isn't it funny how the hard jobs teach you more than the easy ones?
