Spent 4 hours trying to fix a layer blending issue in Clip Studio Paint
I was working on a portrait and the skin tones kept coming out muddy no matter what brush I used. Turns out I had my layer set to 'multiply' the whole time instead of 'normal' and it took me a solid 4 hours to notice. Has anyone else wasted that much time on a single dumb setting mistake?

Flip your canvas horizontally next time you're stuck like that, it tricks your brain into seeing what's actually there. I spent three hours on a shadow once before realizing I had a color layer set to "screen" from a project I did three weeks ago. The dumb setting mistakes always seem to cost the most time, don't they?

The canvas flip trick is like that moment you step back from a puzzle and suddenly the missing piece is obvious. It feels like the whole brain gets reset, not just the eyes. There's something about how our brains build habits around what they expect to see, kind of like how you can walk past the same crack in the sidewalk for months without noticing it until you trip. That's why those layer setting mistakes get me every time too, the brain just assumes everything is normal and skips over the one weird thing.

Couldn't agree more @emerym36, I once spent an hour crying over a brush size I accidentally set to 1 pixel!
