Man that judge must have really gotten under your skin. I had a kinda similar thing where a guy dinged me for too much smoke and I went the total opposite way for like a year, running the cleanest fire I could. The thing that got me back on track was just cooking for myself and my buddies again, no scorecards, no judges, just eating and seeing what actually tasted good. Turned out the sauce wasn't the problem, I was just overthinking it because one guy made a comment. Go back to what you liked doing before that comp and the rest usually sorts itself out.

Watching the Ultimate Edition basically feels like watching a different movie, and the wild part is WB did the same thing to Justice League two years later so you can see a pattern with how they handle Snyder's stuff. Knowing they hacked 30 minutes out of a story that was already juggling like five plot lines makes the messy parts way easier to forgive, because that is not the director's fault, that is a studio wanting a shorter runtime for more showings per day. The whole Lex thing especially, in the theatrical cut he just seems like a weirdo for no reason but in the longer version you actually see him getting played and stringing everyone along the whole time. So nah you are not just talking yourself into it, you are just finally watching the movie the way it was meant to be seen, and owning the disc does not make your take wrong.
