Rant: The guy at the park who set up a full drum set on the walking trail

I went for a jog at Lincoln Park today and some dude had a full drum kit set up right on the path. It felt like a prank but he was actually playing, so I had to jog around him in the mud. Has anyone else run into random musicians blocking trails like this?

You mention it's a gift, but what about the people with sound sensitivities who have to leave the park entirely to get away from it?

Wait, isn't that actually kind of awesome though? Like, here's a guy who's so dedicated to his craft he couldn't even wait to get to a studio, he just had to play right there on the trail. Think about how many people got to hear live music on their walk who wouldn't have otherwise (myself included) - that's a gift, not an annoyance. You had to jog around him in the mud, sure, but that's a small price for a moment of unexpected art in a boring public park. The path is shared space for everyone, not just joggers, and drummers have just as much right to be there as runners do. Honestly, a little inconvenience like that makes life more interesting than another bland, predictable jog around the same loop.

Make you actually stop and notice the world around you instead of just zoning out on autopilot.
