Bought a cheap $80 cable tension gauge online and it was off by 15% on every test.

Honestly my buddy had the same exact problem last year. He bought one of those no-name gauges to set up his bike. Tbh it read way low compared to the shop's tool. He ended up over tightening a bunch of spokes before he figured it out. Ngl it was a pretty annoying waste of time and money. Makes you wonder if just saving for a known brand is worth it.

Can we talk about the new parking meter app crashing during the lunch rush

Nina, what's wrong with quarters? They're basically tiny metal discs of pure stress when the app fails. My workaround is a permanent coffee can of change in the passenger footwell, which just turns my car into a giant piggy bank on wheels. It feels like we're going backwards, carrying ransom money for a parking spot. You'd think they could make an app that works when people actually need to park, right?

Had a weird chatter issue on a 316 stainless part that drove me nuts for a week

Man, that's a classic headache right there. It's wild how much the setup itself can act like a tuning fork. I've burned hours chasing tool issues only to find the part was just dancing in the vise. Your old boss had it right, those clamp harmonics are no joke. Solid workholding is half the battle for a good finish.

Had to pick between a full Windows reinstall or chasing a weird driver issue on a gaming PC

That "band-aid fix" mindset is why @sage308 and I keep extra aspirin behind the bar.

TIL a $300 lesson about training a custom AI model on the wrong data

I used to skip data cleaning, but a mistake like that would totally change my mind.
