Question about how many people actually get hit with ransomware

I was reading a report from CISA last week that said 75% of ransomware attacks start with a simple email phishing link, which is way higher than I thought.

That stat seems high, maybe it's just me but phishing feels less common now.

My buddy Jake got a text last week that looked exactly like his bank alert, asking him to confirm a weird charge. He almost clicked it before noticing the sender was a random email, not the usual short code. @ray356, I swear the scams just look more real now instead of the old "Nigerian prince" stuff. They're targeting people with fake delivery notices and bank fraud warnings that match real alerts. It feels less common because the bad ones are easier to spot, but the good ones are still everywhere. Jake said it was the closest he's ever come to falling for one.

Spot the same thing with my older relatives. They keep getting these super polished texts about "suspicious activity" on accounts they actually have. The bad ones are gone but the good ones are scary convincing now.
