Just saw a huge security risk at the airport in Phoenix

I was waiting for my flight and saw at least five people charging their phones at those free USB stations... they just plugged right in without a second thought. The guy next to me even logged into his bank app while it was charging. Those public ports can be set up to steal your data or put bad software on your phone. I told him to unplug and use his own charger block in the wall outlet instead. Has anyone else seen this and found a good way to warn people without sounding like you're freaking out?

What's the actual risk though?

Total loss, like jade_jenkins said. Look at FTX, people's money just gone overnight. Or a hot wallet hack where your coins get stolen and there's zero way to get them back. The actual risk is your balance hitting zero from stuff totally out of your control. It's not like stocks where there's some backup.

The real risk is losing everything you put in. Exchanges can go under or get hacked, and there's no bank insurance. Just don't invest more than you can afford to lose completely.

Phoenix airport USB ports are probably fine, why would anyone bother hacking them?
