I was sure credit repair companies were all scams until my sister tried one
My sister paid $500 to a service called CreditRepair Plus back in February. I told her she was throwing her money away, that nobody can fix credit faster than just paying bills on time. But here's what happened - they found two medical collections on her report that she actually paid off three years ago. The hospital never told the credit bureaus she settled. After they disputed those two items, her score jumped from 582 to 641 in 45 days. Has anyone else had a legit experience with one of these companies, or did I just get lucky seeing hers work out?

$500 for filing some forms, guess I'm in the wrong business.

Agree totally, paid $300 last year for simple credit repair stuff I could have done myself in an hour.

Respectfully I see it differently. She didn't need a middleman for that - she could have disputed those collections herself for free and gotten the same result. The company basically just did paperwork she could have printed off the FTC website.
