Took my dog on a Raw diet 6 months ago and now I'm questioning everything I knew about kibble
I always thought premium dry dog food was the gold standard, but after my vet suggested trying raw for my beagle's skin issues, I gave it a shot. Within 3 weeks, his coat went from flaky to shiny and his energy level shot up noticeably. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I've been feeding him the wrong stuff for 5 years. Has anyone else switched and seen a huge difference?

Did you see any weight change on raw or was it mostly just the coat improvement?

Used to think raw was just hype about coats. Then my mutt dropped 5 pounds in 6 weeks without me even trying to cut his food. Coat got nicer too but the weight change really sold me.

One of my dogs, a border collie mix named Sadie, dropped about 4 pounds in the first month after we switched. She was on kibble before and always seemed a little puffy around the middle, you know? The raw diet just melted that off her, she went from 52 to 48 pounds and she looked so much leaner. But then my other dog, Leo, he's a labradoodle and he actually gained a couple pounds at first because he was so excited to eat, he'd scarf it down and then want more. So I guess it really depends on the dog and their starting weight. I was more focused on the coat though, honestly, Sadie's fur got so soft and shiny I couldn't stop petting her.
