That chat with my neighbor about his corporate job hit different
My neighbor Mike makes six figures in IT but told me he's miserable and can't stand the office politics. Meanwhile I'm out here pressure washing driveways for $45 a pop and actually sleeping well at night. Kinda makes you wonder if the money is worth it when you dread Monday every single week.

Wow, man, that really hits home. I was in a similar spot a few years back, working a fancy desk job that paid well but made me feel dead inside. I ended up taking a pay cut to work for a smaller company where I actually feel like my work matters and the people aren't out to get each other. It's not perfect, but I don't wake up with that pit in my stomach on Sunday nights anymore. Honestly, the trade off was worth it for my sanity.
