My car's transmission gave out on the highway near Bakersfield yesterday.
I smiled and told my boss it was fine, but I'm actually panicking about the $2,800 repair bill. Anyone else had a major expense hit right when you couldn't afford it?

My fridge died the same week my cat needed emergency surgery last month. I was eating canned beans while writing a check for like three grand. At this point I'm just waiting for my water heater to stage a rebellion.
