Old timer told me to always sweep from the top down and I ignored him for a year

Man that Pine Street job sounds rough. Eighty bucks stings when it's your own pocket and not the company's. I had a similar thing happen with a cap I didn't tighten right after a cleaning. The next storm pushed rain right down the flue and the homeowner's ceiling had this big brown water stain. I had to come back on a Saturday to fix it and buy them a new gallon of paint. Old timers really do know the little stuff that saves you headaches.

That expensive smoker gasket I installed failed mid-brisket last weekend

Hate when that happens, you spend good money on them and they just let you down at the worst time. Always a bummer to tear something back open just to fix a gasket that should have held up. You finding a better alternative now?

Watched my old mentor cut hair for 20 years then saw how I do it now

Man, I don't know if it's really that deep. You picked up a clipper, so what? Your mentor was from a different time when dudes were asking for different stuff. Fades weren't even a big thing back then like they are now. If someone walked in wanting a modern bald fade with a hard part in the 80s, he would've had to figure it out too. Just different tools for different jobs.

Dub over sub is actually fine, fight me

The Cowboy Bebop dub is one of those rare cases where it genuinely elevates the material. Steve Blum put so much personality into Spike that it's hard to separate the character from his voice. You're not wrong for preferring it, especially since most dubs back then were pretty rough. Sometimes the original Japanese audio just doesn't capture the same rhythm or cool factor that a well-casted English version can. If you ever watch Trigun, give the English dub a shot too, it has that same kind of charm.

That meal kit subscription drained $120 before I caught on

You said "it would save me grocery money" and that's where I gotta stop you. Meal kits aren't about saving cash, they're about saving time and brain space. If you're tossing half the food that's a you problem not the service's fault. I've used them for years and my grocery bill actually went down because I stopped impulse buying at the store. Sounds like you just needed to pick smaller plans or actually cook the meals you ordered.
