Took me 3 hours to fix a toilet flapper that should have been 15 minutes

Went to swap out a flapper on my toilet and the new one wouldn't seat right no matter what I did. Turned out the old chain was just slightly too long and getting caught under the rubber. Has anyone else had a simple home repair turn into a whole afternoon?

Oh man the chain thing got me too, I spent two hours on a kitchen faucet drip just to realize the o-ring was upside down.

Did you try replacing the whole chain too or just the flapper?

Omg the chain thing is SO real. I replaced my flapper three times before I realized the chain was twisted and catching on the fill tube. Felt like a plumbing genius after that one. My dad would be so proud if he ever saw me fix anything without calling him first lol
