Can we talk about hitting a number you never thought you'd see?
I was cleaning out some old boxes and found a notebook from when I first started doing small concrete jobs on my own. I had written down a goal to pour 100 yards of concrete in a year, thinking that was a huge stretch. I just checked my books from last year and I did 412 yards. It wasn't some big planned push, it just happened from steady work. That number really stopped me, it felt like a different person's life. Has anyone else hit a specific count or total that made you pause and think?

My old tax return from 2018 showed I made $28,000 that whole year. I was just looking at it last week for something else and it felt like reading about a stranger. I make more than that in a good month now and I don't even feel like I'm working harder, the work just got better. It's a weird feeling when the paper shows you how far you've come without you really noticing day to day.

Eh, it's just money though.

Actually, it's funny you mention that feeling of it being a different person's life. I've found that looking at old goals can sometimes make you feel like you didn't aim high enough back then, but that's not really fair to your past self. You were just working with what you knew at the time, and hitting that bigger number shows how much you've learned.
