I still owe my high school shop teacher, Mr. Henderson, an apology for that 2003 engine rebuild.

He told me to double-check the torque on the head bolts, but I was sure I'd done it right and blew him off in front of the whole class. The engine seized on the test stand a week later, and I've felt like a jerk for twenty years because I never admitted he was right. Has anyone else messed up that bad and just let the moment to say sorry pass by?

But that "full story" excuse just lets people off the hook forever.

Honestly this whole "look him up" thing is a huge part of the problem now. People see one out of context clip and make a full judgment, like you're saying wilson.joseph. The internet has made everyone a judge on stuff they spent two minutes learning about. It's wild how quick folks are to demand an apology before even hearing the full story.
