Vent: Why did nobody tell me I was pausing the anime instead of skipping the intro for 3 years?

I was watching Attack on Titan on Crunchyroll and kept hitting the wrong button on my remote until my buddy looked over my shoulder last week and laughed his head off, has anyone else had a dumb button mistake that went on way too long?

Man I did something similar with Netflix back in 2018. I was watching Breaking Bad and kept hitting the 'pause' button instead of 'skip intro' for almost a year. My wife finally pointed it out when she saw me frantically tapping the remote every episode. I felt like a complete idiot but at least I never missed any intro music again. Sometimes you just get stuck in a bad habit and nobody says anything because they assume you know what you're doing.

Jumped right into that same trap myself with the "skip recap" button on Hulu during The Handmaid's Tale. For two whole seasons I thought I was supposed to watch that five minute recap every single episode (you know, just in case I forgot something from last week). My roommate finally caught me in the act and asked why I never skipped it, and I honestly felt like a fool. Now every time I see a recap I just jab that button like it personally insulted me.
