Just spent $400 on a 'guaranteed' online course that was just repackaged YouTube videos.

Wait, isn't it the seller's fault for the scammy marketing, not yours? You trusted their promise. I got a refund once by going straight to my credit card company and calling it a "service not as described." I just said the course was just free videos put together, not the real program they sold. The bank reversed the charge after I sent screenshots. Did you try a chargeback yet?

Heard a client say 'just cut it all down' about a row of old maples

My buddy had a client ready to walk over a tiny fee, and just listening for five minutes fixed it. That moment of connection, like @rowan969 said, is what actually matters in the grind. He still talks about how good that felt.

That time a comic shop in Portland made me rethink my whole stance on event books

Oh man, that shop owner must have some kind of magic touch... mine talked me into that big vampire event last year and it was a total train wreck. Like, they turned my favorite street-level hero into a sparkly night creature for three months and then just... forgot about it. The next arc he was just back to normal, no explanation, like it was a bad dream. Guess I should have asked for that buy-back deal.

Why does nobody talk about the nightmare of old apartment building conduit runs?

Bring a shop vac next time to suck out all the old dust and crud first, makes pulling new line way easier.

Showerthought: My own fridge dying made me a better tech

Yeah, the patience thing is real. I read this article once about how fixing things yourself forces you into a different kind of thinking. It said you have to slow down and actually see how all the parts connect, instead of just wanting it to work right now. That stuck with me. It's not just about saving money, it's about training your brain to handle frustration in a different way. You learn to sit with the problem until you figure it out.
